Join the NextGen Builders Mentoring Program

The TCBN NextGen Mentoring Program for Black youth begins in late September 2018. Up to 20 Black youth (Mentees) will be matched with Mentors who are experienced construction trades professionals.

The Mentoring Program includes:

Who can have a mentor?

Black youth who are in the process of preparing for work or who have been recently employed as apprentices in construction trades.

Does this sound like you?

  • Committed and ready to pursue a career in construction trades
  • Preparing for work: in pre-apprenticeship or job seeking
  • Recently employed in construction as apprentice
  • Wants the support of a mentor
Become a Mentee

Who can be a mentor?

Potential mentors should meet most of the following criteria.

Does this sound like you?

  • Currently work in the construction sector
  • Have experience in a unionized working environment
  • Have completed or nearly completed an apprenticeship in the construction trades
  • Be willing to commit for at least 1 year
  • Want to help Black youth succeed in the trades
  • Understand the challenges Black youth face
