Newcomer Pathways into Construction

This Capacity Building Project assists immigrants and refugees to learn about, and access well-paid employment opportunities in the construction industry.

The Project provides focused outreach, information, and support services for immigrants and refugees, along with systems for tracking and monitoring their progress in employment. Supports will address circumstantial, systemic and financial barriers, and promote access and retention of well-paid jobs at construction companies with community benefits agreements.

This Capacity Building Project is funded by the World Education Services Inc. (WES) Mariam Assefa Fund. The WES Mariam Assefa Fund, which is named after WES’ longtime former CEO Mariam Assefa, supports efforts to knock down the barriers that impede immigrants and refugees from accessing quality employment and integrating into the workforce.
